I am a movement and yoga teacher with the belief that the most valuable gift of a movement practice is to witness a felt sense in the body, moving away from rigid ideals of how one should be moving and perceived limitations. It is from this foundation that I practice and offer a somatic style of movement and yoga that has at its heart playfulness, curiosity, creativity and exploration of possibilities. I discovered yoga in 2008, whilst working as a childrens' books graphic designer and it became a way for me to experience some peace in my body and mind.
I first qualified as a vinyasa yoga teacher in 2012 and since then I have continued to practice various forms of yoga and movement, and to study the human body and mind. I believe that we all have untapped potential for movement, that it is a form of self-expression and that when we keep exploring with a curious mind, we give ourselves permission and the opportunity to unearth the multi-dimensionality of body movement. Using the breath as a gateway into the practice, the ground and space around for support, I create and teach movement sequences that combine traditional and non-traditional ways of moving, all of which are weaved through tantalizing music.
I teach open and corporate classes in London. I also offer face-to-face and on-line private one-to-one and small groups private sessions.

I have been taking Barbara one-to-one private sessions on a weekly basis and I enjoy them very much!!! Every session is different and challenging. I've been coming to Barbara's yoga classes Thursday lunchtimes for about 3-4 months, and I love them! We warm up with an impromptu dance, where we all just let it all go! Yoga with babs is an incredibly revitalising, valuable and enjoyable experience. I was taking her class twice a week during work breaks at a top firm in central London as a work benefit. It worked out really well. Every class is a unique journey that is highly tuned to yourself as a single participant or with others in a class. I have learned and gained a lot from her direction. She has an amazing sense of humour, incredible knowledge and experience with great observation and correction skills. She draws inspiration from many different styles of yoga, Chinese medicine and ancient somatic movement. She tailors her guidance to the exact requirements and abilities of the class or personal intention. Some of the movements are very precise but they unlock some incredible powers and healing. The results are magically delicious and last for a long while afterwards.

I have the absolute pleasure of attending Babs’ weekly corporate classes at my work. Over the past 3 years, we have wiggled and played and laughed through our practices. I just want to say how good Tuesday lunchtime class with Barbara is. I have been attending yoga classes in this gym for almost 8 years and since she started teaching, I try to attend all of her classes. I even signed up for one of her workshops, which I found great. Barbara proposes a different way to teaching yoga and that is what makes her classes interesting.

I have been practicing yoga for a long time now. Somewhere along the way I lost that inner awareness that is so precious to a practice. Since the lockdown, although I have never practiced with Babs in person, I stumbled across her mini Sunday retreats. They are teaching me a new way to experience movement. Through them I am rediscovering my deep inner awareness awaken. Babs' style is precise yet very respectful of each individuals' right to play. She focuses on micro movements, breath, dance, and the senses, all of which are weaved through tantilizing music. No matter where you find yourself, even if are just dipping your toes in movement, yoga, dance, there is something here for you.
